BridgeSight Signs Contract with Kansas DOT to Perform PGSuper Modifications

News Release - December  1, 2011 - BridgeSight Software signs contract with the Kansas Department of Transportation Bridge Division to customize the open source girder design program PGSuper to fit KDOT's needs for LRFD precast/prestressed girder design. When completed, KDOT will have a custom girder design program that is tailored to meet their needs at a fraction of the cost to develop software from scratch.

We just added a new PGSuper configuration to make it easier for engineers working on MoDOT projects to use PGSuper. The configuration includes the most common precast I sections used by MoDOT including:

  • MoDOT Girder Types 2, 3, 4, 6 & 7

We just added a new PGSuper configuration to make it easier for CalTrans engineers to use PGSuper. The configuration includes the most common precast secions used by CalTrans including:

  • Wide Flange Girders (all shapes)
  • Bulb Tee Girders with Debonded Strands (all shapes)
  • I-Girders (all shapes)
  • Bath Tub Girders (all shapes)
  • Slab Girders

03/15/2011 - New Tutorial: Modeling Touch Shoring with PGSuper

This new tutorial demonstrates how to model a touch shoring construction scenario with PGSuper. Touch shoring is used to support precast girders during deck placement to reduce the final stresses in the composite deck and girder system.

Enhancements made in PGSuper Version 2.4 include support for modeling lightweight concrete. Engineers can now define both the girder and deck concrete as normal weight, sand lightweight, or all lightweight concrete. This new tutorial describes how to model lightweight concrete material properties in PGSuper.
